Good Hope Muslim Association at its heart is a water charity with the primary aim to raise money to install hand pumps, deep bore wells and establish health and sanitation programmes in order to provide safe clean drinking water for all.
Millions of women and children spend over one hour a day collecting drinking water in Uganda, often trekking through harsh terrain facing animal and human predators.
Yet, we take it for granted, we waste it, and we even pay too much to drink it from little plastic bottles.

Every day mothers around the Uganda go hungry in order to feed their children. Let us do everything we can so fathers, mothers and children can have food to eat.

ORPHAN CARE
Feeding
The Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this, “and he held his two fingers together to illustrate’.
Good Hope Muslim Association feeds orphans here in Uganda .
Each plate of food is 2 Euros for 1 Orphan.
Education
We do provide scholastic materials to orphans in Uganda. It is done at the start of every academic term.
QURBAN AND AQIQA
Qurban
What is Qurbani?
Qurbani means sacrifice. Every year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal – a goat, sheep, cow or camel – to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of God. In every year, Qurbani distributions will aim to reach more people than ever before.
After the animal has been sacrificed, its meat is then distributed to those most in need.
Aqiqa
Aqiqah is a type of sadaqah and it is also sunnah. According to another hadith from Ja’far al-Sadiq, every born is in pawn of Aqiqah; namely, it would be exposed to death/kinds of calamities if they don’t do Aqiqah for the child. It is Sunnah for the parents to eat from the meat of Aqiqah.
We sacrifice goats, sheep and cows.
ISLAMIC EDUCATION
Repair and Construction of new Madarasa schools.
Many Muslim children lack Madarasa Schools for studying islamic studies. Those Those who study at poor schools lack breakfast and lunch. Good Hope Muslim Association feeds, repairs and Construction of new Madarasa schools.
Provision of Qurans, School books and Islamic books.
Many people in our community want to learn Islam but they do lack qurans and other Islamic books. Good Hope Muslim Association through its donors provides these materials.
CARING AFTER NEEDY PEOPLE
Old people face many challenges in our community. These include poor Accomodations , poor health, lack of personal needs and other challenges.
Good Hope Muslim Association helps these poor people in all these challenges.
IFTAR FEEDING
Giving iftar (fast-breaking) meal is very rewarding (thawab). If a person, while walking on the road, gives only a date or an olive to a fasting person, the reward for giving iftar meal is attained. When our master the Prophet declared, “If a person gives iftar to a fasting person in this month, his sins will be forgiven. And he will be given as many rewards as has that fasting person,” some of the Blessed Companions said that they were not so rich as to give iftarmeal to a fasting person. He declared as a reply, “The rewards will be given even to a person who gives a date as the iftar or who provides water to break the fast or who offers a little milk”[Bayhaqi].
Good Hope Muslim Association feeds Muslims during Ramadan. Food packages are distributed and iftar meals prepared in the evening.
This is done because many Muslims less income to support them selves in Ramadan.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Land slides And Floods.
Land slides and floods, are a big problem in Uganda. Good Hope Muslim Association provides food, clothings, medical help , search and rescue to people affected. Land slides happen mostly on Mt Elgon in eastern Uganda and Mt Rwenzori in western Uganda. For example; Heavy rains triggered these landslides on the steep slopes of Mt. Elgon in Uganda, on March 1, 2010. The slides buried three villages, leaving 83 dead and more than 300 missing as of March 8, reported the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Floods happen mostly in eastern Uganda and Northern Uganda where crops and animals are killed hence affecting the livelihood of most communities.
Drought And Famine
Good Hope Muslim Association assists families affected by drought and famine. Food , financial assistance and other useful homestead items are provided.
The droughts greatly affect the agricultural sector, which is Uganda’s economical backbone. Farmers are counting losses after the food crops they planted either dried up or yielded very poor harvest.The droughts greatly affect the agricultural sector, which is Uganda’s economical backbone. The droughts have not spared the animals either; herdsmen are moving from community to community in search for pastures and water. They face rejection in some places, with ensuing conflicts over access to water. Cattle traders say they are making losses because the animals are weak, smaller and weigh less than usually.
MOSQUE CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR
The population of Muslims in the country is on the rise, and hence the need for constructing more new mosques.
Most of the mosques in the villages are made of mud and wattle because people there are poor and can not afford to put up permanent buildings or mosques.
Good Hope Muslim Association through our donors has helped many communities with more new Mosques and repaired many other mosques.

Everyone deserves to see clearly and not to become blind because of luck of medical assistance.
That’s why we at Good Hope Muslim Association also help those with vision or eye problems by treating them or sponsoring their eye operations. We do this to the poor elderly, poor people and the orphans.
